Diagnosis of the problem:
Data transmission between several centres was not satisfactory. Connections were provided by different operators. There were no mechanisms that could ensure appropriate quality of connections. The transmission network as a whole was incoherent, which caused, among other things, lack of “end-to-end” supervision of the services.
Defined objective:
The Teletransmission Department Director was searching for a possibility to use either own or leased operator services to create a uniform corporate data transmission network.
Solution proposed by FCA experts:
Selecting a proven operator made it possible to connect all branches scattered around Poland into one corporate network. As a result, the deployed EMXP system provided for logical setting of direct connections between respective centres, thus ensuring appropriate transmission quality based on monitoring of SLA parameters. As expected, the platform allowed remote and flexible creation of connections depending on the current demand, without the need to reconfigure the physical connections. The system remained open to further expansion, ensuring the capacity to integrate new branches.
Achieved results:
The installation of the EMXP system brought an 8-fold reduction in the connection unavailability time and reduced the connection reconfiguration time by 93%. In addition, based on monitoring measurements of the SLA parameters, a tool was acquired for verification of the quality of transmission services provided by the operator.
